OK so we’ve all heard that we need to put a “pause” on our inbox and start spending quality time getting things done. But how do you know what you need to spend more time on? Prioritizing your day can be daunting and nothing can eat-up your time like email.

Regardless of how you manage your time, whether its using the Pomordoro method or the latest “rule” from the hottest life coach at the moment, you still need to get those emails out and if I had to put money on it you’re probably using GMail to do it.

Now I don’t have to tell you about all the bells and whistles that come with GMail. Most of you already know about Boomerang and in case you don’t here’s a great demo video that for you to review.

However, in this weeks post, I want to spotlight 3 features from Boomerang for Gmail that can help boost your email and productivity throughout the day.

Boomerang Insights

If you’ve been using GMail for awhile, you probably also know that you can fall down a rabbit hole pretty quickly with all of the features Boomerang has to offer. But how do you know if you’re making the best use of them? How do you know if your getting the most out of your day?

Well that’s where Boomerang’s Insights comes into play. Google has added this new feature to help you boost your email habits and make email a more useful and productive part of your day.

You can learn how email interruptions and notifications shapes your day. Why would you care? Because this data is based on your behavior, like your communication style and it gives you actionable advice about how to enhance your productivity. You can learn more about Boomerang Insights here.

Inbox Pause

This is a great feature that will stop incoming emails into your inbox, so you can stay focused on what matters or the current task at hand. You can customize it to only let in truly important emails or to stop a flurry of emails from hitting your inbox too quickly.

This will help make your life less stressful because you’ll only be checking your email a few times a day instead of whenever your notification bell goes off. It’s also available for Outlook too. You can get all the details here.

Boomerang Respondable

If you’re like me and you’re always worried that your email messages are either too long or worse too short. This add-on may be for you. Google is using AI to help you write better emails. This feature is falling right in line with other editing apps like Grammarly and Hemingway. The point is to help you write more engaging and effective emails in real time as oppose to putting them off. You can check out what this nifty little add-on has to offer here.

Now I have to admit while I love my bells in whistles, but I still say the best way to learn is to actually make a few mistakes. To grow from those experiences as oppose to shutting the ultimate computer (your brain) off and letting all this AI-stuff do everything for you.

But if you find yourself in a pinch and you need to get your email and your thoughts in order Boomerang from Gmail might be the best bet for you. That’s all I’ve got for you today, but as always I would love to hear from you.
